Soft Cabinet Reveal

The highly requested reveal is HERE…kind of. There is still a bit of work to do on our kitchen cabinets, but you guys have requested to see the intermediate, so here ya go! We still have to caulk the edges–as you can see below, the edges have paint between the wood and wall–this will be fixed with the caulk.

We also have to replace all hinges, as the old ones are silver, but the gold ones I want are on back-stock.

IMG_1214IMG_1213IMG_12155247611983757951170_IMG_0379-6474948683231984827_IMG_03828702476943912092772_IMG_0392-890923792720445771_IMG_03944678894024043298209_IMG_0381

Since taking these pictures, we have replaced the old almond color outlets with bright white, as well as replaced the light switches. We are currently working on curtain options for the window, as well–I just can’t decide. imagine that hahaha

I can’t wait to finish it completely + do a much larger reveal! Hope this holds you guys over for now! 🙂 Happy hump day!

Custom Cases: CaseApp Review

Custom anything grabs my attention, but custom iPhone + Mac skins?! I was immediately drawn in. When CaseApp contacted me about a review of their product, I was already in love. I had surfed their website + found so many adorable cases–I actually thought about buying one straight out instead of collabing because the ease of the website and on-point designs were something I didn’t want to pass up! Y’all know me + a quality product! hahaha

Which is why I was so pumped to finish this review + get it live to you gals as soon as I could! Check out my thoughts on the entire process of creating custom cases below! If ya stick around to the end, there might even be dets on a giveaway! heart eyes

10757439280_IMG_043810757387344_IMG_0445

To begin, I designed an iPhone case. The process was incredibly easy + FUN. When navigating to their website, here, you immediately have the choice to either design your own case or browse from the selection of pre-made. I highly recommend designing your own, as it was so cool to receive a product I made–flashback to elementary art class! I crack myself UP lol

The process of designing goes a little something like this: to start, you choose your iPhone size. Mine is a 7+, so I clicked that option and off we went to the design studio. I simply Google searched “abstract blush and dots background” + surfed until I found a design I liked. I screenshot the design and pulled it into the design studio. The system crops the photo for you, but you’re able to adjust to your idea of perfect. I chose not to use clipart, but there is a large selection of precious options, as well as a text feature, if you wanted to add your name/initials/a quote.

After you’ve completed the design, a quick “add to cart” selection places your piece into your shopping cart. You can continue on to creating a Mac skin, or checkout!

10757408160_IMG_0444

10757446736_IMG_0443

Instead of checking out, I continued on to create a Mac skin. Again, the first step is to follow the link to their website and choose Create a Skin. The process is identical to creating the phone case. This time I searched “Dalmatian black spot background” on Google + a million options came up. I simply screenshot the one I liked best and pulled it into the design studio–same process from there!

After both were added to my cart, I checked out + the case and skin were at my door a week later!

Quality

Something that meant more to me than designing my own case was the durability of the product. I don’t share anything that I don’t feel is quality with you guys + this would be no different. However, the quality of both products took me by absolute surprise.

When I first saw that the Mac skin wasn’t an actual case, I was afraid to continue designing. But, when I placed the skin on my laptop, I knew I wouldn’t ever go back to a clip-on case. The material CaseApp uses to produce skins is a hard, textured material, that honestly feels like a hard case. The difference for me was, when I have a hard shell case on my laptop, the screen is always weighed down + I’m constantly pulling it up. With the skin, it’s stick on + incredibly light so it doesn’t feel like there’s anything even on the device. However, I know for a fact the skin would protect the outside of my screen, 100%.

On to the phone case–I am amazed. Again, I thought that a $34 designed case would not stand up to my standards, but holy cow. This case feels tough as nails! The material is not flimsy + is not easily bent. The outside is hard, but the inside is soft and cradles the phone perfectly. Y’all–I will be ordering like three more of these. I hardly ever rave about a product, but this gives every reason to rave!

IMG_1030

CaseApp is crazy awesome. The website is easily navigable, the products are of outstanding quality, the customer service reps are quick to answer, I could go on and on! I absolutely loved this experience of creating my own custom iPhone case and Mac skin + I know you will, too!

That’s why I’m partnering with CaseApp to provide a 20% off code + a GIVEAWAY! The code is ALLTHINGSPRETTYANDPINK20 + the giveaway details will be announced on my Instagram feed later this week! Ya won’t want to miss it! 🙂

Espadrille Sale

Okay, I confess–shoes are my absolute biggest weakness. When shopping, I’m always drawn to the shoe section even though I know I probably don’t need a new pair. Anyone else? hahaha When I found espadrilles two summers ago, I knew I had found a style that would last several seasons + could be paired with virtually anything.

IMG_0381

IMG_0376

IMG_0378

I found my first espadrilles at Target in 2017, but have looked for a cheaper version to share since. Guess what–I found it! These featured espadrilles are from Amazon + are priced at less than $15!! *heart eyes*

This style of shoe can be paired with virtually any type of outfit–flare jeans, skinnys, dresses, skirts, even shorts for summer. My favorite style paired with espadrilles has always been shorts with a flowy top–I’ve wore something similar on every trip to the coast since finding them. You can’t go wrong!

I highly recommend ordering a full size down, as they do run a bit big! Shop three different colors, here!

DIY: Donut Wall

I had to chance to help celebrate my best girl this weekend, as her wedding is almost less than a month away! It sure has flown by! T + I are so excited to get our people married on March 16th!

Part of my job for her bridal brunch was to mail out invitations + build a donut wall–you guys know how much I absolutely loved doing both of those things. This post isn’t really about the invitations, but I did design them, so if you want more information on those, let me know! 🙂

IMG_0411.JPG

The star for this post is this precious donut wall featured below. When I started searching for Tyler’s brunch ideas, I quickly came across donut walls–I mean, what finger food is better at a brunch?! I knew making one would be super easy, so instead of buying one for $50+, I made one for less than $20.

IMG_0409

One problem I have with this post, is that I was in such a rush to get it done (#busyweek), that I didn’t pause for progress pics. However, this project is so incredibly easy, that I think you’ll be able to follow along with a detailed explanation. This baby only took about 20 minutes total to complete! *heart eyes*

Supplies:

  1. 48 in. H x 24 in. W White Pegboard
  2. 1/4 X 48 Wood Dowels X 3
  3. Metallic Gold Spray Paint
  4. Hammer
  5. Painter’s Tape
  6. Drop Cloth

Steps:

  1. Have the Home Depot staff cut your piece of pegboard into two pieces–I recommend having one larger than the other. I went with 28 rows on one and 20 on the other. Doesn’t really matter, this just allowed for me to have two different sizes.
  2. Take your three wooden dowels to one of the Home Depot self-cutting stations. Lay them all together, evenly, and measure out 4in from the end. Use the saw provided to cut there. Move the dowels up, measure 4in again, cut again. Keep doing this until all dowels are cut. Be sure to keep a barcode visible, as you’ll need to scan it at checkout.
  3. Using your painter’s tape and drop cloth, tape off a corner of both boards. Use the drop cloth to lay under the tape, covering the part of the board that you want to remain white.
  4. Spray paint the corners. Leave to dry for 5-10 minutes.
  5. When dry, remove the tape + drop cloth.
  6. Measure out even distances on your board for your pegs–I did every 4 holes, over and down. Using your hammer, hit the dowel pieces into the holes selected.
  7. Continue for second board. You did a great job!

This DIY, like most, is so super easy + is perfect for baby showers, wedding showers, birthday parties, Valentine’s Day parties, + so much more!

You can tackle it, gal! You go!

Pampering With Fizz Facial Bar

Raise your hand if facials give you actual life? I absolutely love a good facial + go about three times a year. I know, I should probably go more, but I treat them like pampering for special occasions. When I do have a chance to go, I enjoy every second + leave feeling like a queen.

If you’ve ever gotten a facial you know how great or how not so great it can go. You build yourself up for a pampering experience + get super chatty Cathy or rough Rhonda? Or maybe every facial you’ve received before has been heavenly. Whatever your past experience, you will always leave with a bright glow + feel so good about yourself at Fizz Facial Bar in Jonesboro!

During my visit last year, I chose the HydraCalm facial, which worked to calm the redness my skin is known for. My Esthetician, Bridget, even taught me something I didn’t know–the redness I had been experiencing for so long was actually a result of some sort inflammation. Whether from sunburns, makeup reactions, or even too hot water–the redness is calmed when the inflammation is calmed.

IMG_3476
Private treatment room.

After a treatment with the MySkinBuddy, an advanced facial cleansing system utilizing red light therapy, I was on cloud-nine. Bridget used several masks designed to both calm my red areas + tighten areas that needed a boost.

Nearing the end of my treatment, my Esthetician introduced me to CyroGlobes. *major heart eyes* The frozen balls of glass are used to further calm the redness + inflammation. At first, the globes were so cold that I jumped when she placed them on my cheeks. It took a minute to adjust to the temperature, but when I did, I could actually feel my face begin to calm + tighten up.

IMG_3468
CyroGlobes in action.

Following the globes, sunscreen was applied to complete my treatment. This would be the one aspect I would have left out, solely because of the thickness it left on my face. However, it was 75+ degrees and sunny, so I 100% understand the necessity!

There are so many options at Fizz + I cannot wait to go back and choose another. If you live in the area, you absolutely must go by for a gal’s day–Tyler + I had a great time! If you’re a loyal follower from the Memphis area, it’s just a quick 45 minute drive over to Jonesboro + I promise you won’t be disappointed!

Check them out at 2810 East Highland Drive, Jonesboro, AR.

XOXO,

Spring Sandal Sale

So, I know it’s still January (hasn’t this month lasted a whole year?!), but I couldn’t pass up sharing this absolute Spring steal with you guys! I bought these precious sandals last season + fell in love. I paid around $25, I think. But, GUESS WHAT–I found them for less than $13!

img_0092

I search every year for sandals that can transition me from Winter to Spring. The transition can be tricky, as mornings are usually still chilly, but afternoons warm up + quick! These faux suede sandals are the perfect piece for those days!

My favorite detail is the tie-up ankle piece. I usually wear cuffed skinnies in the transition periods + love the way the tied bow sits right underneath the cuff. I have gotten so many compliments on these that I can’t wait to pull them back out!

As a note, these run extremely big since they are signed by the Asian market chart. I had to send my first pair back + sized down an entire size. For example, I ordered my regular 7, but sent back for a 6.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t find them on liketoknow.it, so I had to link through Amazon! Use this exclusive link to shop now! —-> Click me 🙂

Taco Quinoa Bowl

So, it’s January, which means I am digging for new dinner options that are also fairly cheap. I get tired of the same foods over + over pretty fast, so the New Year gives me the perfect opportunity to branch out. With that, I also like to try my hand in personalized recipes–it’s so fun!

img_9820img_9822

While also hitting the gym harder than before, T + I are constantly searching for dinner options that require 30 minutes or less of our time. Quinoa has also been a favorite protein source for the both of us + I’ve made a few of my own quinoa recipes over the years. Some of which I have liked, ALL of which T has loved. Bless his heart, he is a garbage disposal.

The story behind this particular recipe is as follows: imagine it–T + I standing in the middle of a Walmart aisle, searching the web for dinner ideas because we both had a loooong day and didn’t have the chance to even think about dinner. After a good twenty minutes, I finally gave up + decided to come up with something myself. Y’all, this recipe is the best thing I’ve thought of in 5 years + I’m so excited to share.

Preparation Time: 5 Minutes | Cook Time: 25 Minutes
Total Time: 30 Minutes

Ingredients

img_9819

Tri-Color Quinoa

Black Beans

Taco Seasoning (25% less sodium pack)

1 Bag of Shredded Lettuce

1 Tomato

1 Avocado

Shredded Cheese of Choice

Sour Cream

Salsa

Directions

  1. Cook Quinoa according to package. Usually about 20 minutes in two cups of water per one cup of quinoa. img_9847
  2. Cut Tomato + Avocado. While your quinoa is cooking, cut your tomato and avocado into small pieces. For a handy video on cutting avocado, go here!
  3. Cook Beans. Another task to complete while your quinoa is cooking is to cook your black beans. Follow the instructions on the can you buy. Usually instructs to cook on stove-top until thoroughly heated (5 minutes).
  4. Add Taco Seasoning. When your quinoa is nice + fluffy, empty packet of 25% less sodium taco seasoning into the pot. Stir well.
  5. Add Toppings. After the taco seasoning has been added, it’s up to you to add your choice of toppings. We include all the toppings listed above + it tastes like pure heaven!

How quick + easy?! We have eaten this a total of 10 times in one month + I am a girl who triple hates eating the same foods on repeat–not to mention my picky pallet. Add it to your weekly dinner schedule + see how many of your peeps fall in love 🙂

NYC at Christmas with Airbnb

Cue the tears, I don’t want to be home! I am 1000% the type of gal that prefers her life to be packed full + move fast. Thus, making New York City the perfect place for me. I would relocate tomorrow if T would follow + who knows — he fell in love with it this time. As a side note, I’ve received three calls from a NYC medial school over the past month…I want to live in the moment until after the new year, but maybe (juuuust maybe), that dream could become a reality.

A little background on this particular trip to the city: I’ve been in the summer, but never when the city is lit up for Christmas. I’ve also heard it’s magical, so I listed it at the very top of my bucket list and started working towards it. I knew I couldn’t go alone, and T Giles and my mom had never been to the city, so I quickly recruited two travel buddies. (we’ve begun to call ourselves the travel trio since my mom tags along on most trips hahaha)

SO, the planning process began. Flights were easy, as you literally just Google search where you’d like to go and Google calculates the lowest available fares. Full disclosure–our flights were only $185 each. That’s a steal compared to when I went in the summer — crazy, right?

Next order of business was to find a place to stay for the weekend. We have recently become Airbnb hosts + are absolutely loving it! It’s been so much fun getting to meet folks from literally all over the world. Knowing we could trust Airbnb, I immediately started my NYC search.

If I were going just me, I would have been content with staying in a studio Airbnb, but with two special guests, I knew I’d have to find something a tad bit larger. So, I found a two bedroom Airbnb three blocks from Times Square for less than $600 for three nights. I immediately booked and did a little happy dance, considering hotels in the area were pricing for more than $1,000 for the weekend.

To diverge for a quick second, we also found a high quality Airbnb outside of Orlando for our weekend trip at the beginning of December for less than $40 a night. Again, a steal. Each Airbnb experience, including our own as hosts, have left us with a greater appreciation for other people, their space, and the pure goodness of a human being. We feel strongly that staying with Airbnb gives you, the guest, an “at-home” experience that a hotel just can’t buy.

Airbnb is incredibly easy to use — just follow the link here and sign up. Say I recommended you to receive a $20 discount from your first booked trip!

Another fun fact about me is that I enjoy being extremely organized. I have my days planned out before they begin + you’ll find my iPhone calendar is booked weeks ahead of time. This quality makes me a hardcore trip planner. For each trip T + I have taken, I’ve sat down beforehand and planned each stop. I feel it makes you better prepared + not wasting time figuring out what to do.

That being said, I’m sharing a list below full of all of my NYC favs, complete with a printable itinerary that spans over four weekend days! Check it out + leave your most anticipated stop in the Instagram post comments for a chance to win my latest Travel Giveaway! (heart eyes)

Eats

Sauce + Barrel

Prepare yourself for the best pasta you’ve had in your life. We found this little place on our way back from our Statue of Liberty boat tour, all starving. My personal favorite menu option is the Cacio E Pepe. Someone help — I’m craving!

Junior’s Cheesecake

SO, I’m sure by now you’ve heard of Junior’s. It’s a NYC classic + an all around must try. My favorite entrée is a simple cheeseburger with the onion ring/steak fry side. However, the goodness doesn’t really begin until it’s dessert time. There is NO other cheesecake in the world better than a slice of Junior’s Original. Trust me, friend, order the $7 slice of Heaven + thank me later.

Carmine’s

Talk about YUMMY Italian. Carmine’s is NYC fan favorite. The only downside to this restaurant is the reservation requirement. Be sure to call + book a few days ahead + grab the Penne Alla Vodka!

Olive Garden on Times Square

I know, I know — you can eat Olive Garden at home anytime you want. Before you keep scrolling, hear me out — the view of Times Square from this eatery is unlike any other you can find. You can be certain you’ll enjoy the food, as you probably already have a favorite!

Carve: Unique Sandwich’s

New York style pizza is a 100% must on your next trip to the city. This small little shop looks so in-expecting. You walk by assuming it’s a sandwich shop, until you walk in on tired feet and a hungry tummy to find the absolute best pizza in the world. If you know me at all, you know that I am the most picky eater. I don’t like BBQ, bacon, mayonnaise, etc. The only type of pizza I will eat is cheese + there is only one pizza place that knocks my expectations out of the park every time, which is back in Wynne, AR (Spinner’s Pizza). That being said, the cheese pizza at this establishment is right under Spinner’s. You must try!

Hudson Bagel

Located at W 47th + 9th, this little bagel shop will wow you! If there is anything at all that you leave this post knowing, you have to try these bagels!! I ordered the Everything Bagel with Cream Cheese and a side of Fruit Salad every single morning. When I woke up the morning we got home, I was so disappointed in my breakfast bar. *tears*

Brookfield Place

As you’ll find under my sights tab below, the 9/11 Museum + Memorial is my #1 top recommendation for those who haven’t experienced NYC — even at Christmas. Both times that I’ve gone to the museum, I’ve spent approximately four hours there — there is quite a bit to take in. That being said, lunch will be waiting for you right across the street at Brookfield Place’s Hudson Eats, otherwise known as their food court. I personally recommend the little shop named Olive’s, where I absolutely loved my lunch choice of a Roasted Turkey sandwich with Vermont Sharp Cheddar Cheese. AGAIN, I’m crying over my cold Pizza Hut dinner tonight, longing for this meal!

Sights

Regular Sights

9/11 Museum + Memorial

If you’re new to NYC, the 9/11 Memorial and Museum is a must. This is such an eye opening experience, and for me, brings a reminder of who we are as a country. The memorial will leave you breathless, but the museum will teach you so many things. Prepare to have your heart gripped like never before, but to also leave with a sense of American pride.

Time’s Square

You’re probably thinking “DUH”, but I just had to say it! I was worried T Giles wouldn’t like the city because of the lights, sounds, and excessive people, but Times Square is what made him fall in love. Grab a seat on the “red stairs” and people watch for hours! When you’re hungry, head over to the McDonalds for a second floor view + grab a few Souvenirs at Grand Slam!

Bethesda Fountain in Central Park

The park is more beautiful than you could ever imagine. It looks just like the movies portray it + in spots, even better! There are a ton of things to visit in the park, but this large fountain overlooks a pond, and has a beautiful sitting area.

American Museum of Natural History

Ever seen Night at the Museum? If not, this very museum comes to life at night + seeing it in person is amazing. Fun story: when T walked into the museum he stopped to make note of how happy he’ll be to bring our babies and convince them the movie is real–aka, that the exhibits actually come to life at night. My whole entire heart!

Statue of Liberty Boat Tour

Seeing the Statue of Liberty was my mom’s #1 bucket list hope + let me tell you, she did not disappoint. I’ve seen her from afar on previous trips, but hadn’t ever been up close. To think of all the immigrants that entered our country, knowing they were free when they saw her on the horizon–breathtaking. We weren’t able to visit the crown because tickets have to be booked far in advance. Make sure to look at least two months before your trip!

Empire State Building

This is another giveaway, but equally as amazing. Grab tickets to see what used to be the view from the tallest building in the World. They even have sunrise/sunset tours!

Christmas Sights

Macy’s on 34th

You’ve all heard of Macy’s at Christmas time in NYC, but until you experience it, you just don’t know what that means. With 12 floors, and two of those whole floors dedicated to the Holiday’s, Macy’s did not disappoint. Be sure to grab Starbucks on the 2nd floor before exploring–it will take a while! Fun bonus: the upper floors are still using the original wooden escalators!

Rockefeller Center

THE TREE. That’s all you should know about Rockefeller…just kidding haha. Really, though, this is the location of the world famous real Christmas Tree. The tree is a Norway Spruce that’s over 70 feet tall. Check out more history on the tree here.

Fao’s Toy Store

Talk about feeling like a kid on Christmas! Fao’s is all that + more. With two floors full of toys and sweet treats, this toy store is everything you could have ever wanted as a child.

Sak’s Fifth Ave Across from Rockefeller

Sak’s Fifth near Rockefeller has the best light show in town. It lasts for approximately five minutes, but everyone on the corner stops to watch when it begins. Truly will put you in the Christmas spirit!

Radio City Music Hall

You’ve heard of the Rockettes, right? Okay, imagine a 1.5 hour show of kick lines and dancing. If you’re interested this is the place for you! Look next door to see the entrance for Jimmy Kimmel, as well!

Big Red Ornaments/Christmas Lights

This stop is truly a NYC classic! We’ve all seen the big red ornaments, and recently they’ve added the large Christmas light strand. They make for a perfect picture spot and we even saw two proposals while there!

New York Stock Exchange

You wouldn’t think the NYSE would be a Christmas stop, but the tree outside is only beat by the Rockefeller. It is absolutely exquisite + the Wall Street area is a fun stop, anywho. While you’re in the area, be sure to stop by to see the Fearless Girl.

Entertainment

Broadway Show

Thanks to my friend, , I was able to find super cheap Broadway show tickets at broadwayforbrokepeople.com! We will definitely be making use of this next year!

Stay tuned for another NYC post, where I’ll list several Rainy Day activities for when the Big Apple starts to float! hehe

xoxo
