Who loves hiking to find fun waterfalls as much as me?!

As a little girl, I went to visit my grandmother once a year, north of Atlanta. I have been to Cloudland Canyon State Park more than I could count, but this past summer I was fortunate enough to take my sweet T to the canyon. If you know T you know he’s not a big outdoorsman, but he was SO excited to hike to the waterfall. After his little feet hit the water, I think he fell in love with the idea for forever. *hehehe*

Cloudland Canyon has trails ranging in length from a half a mile to over 3 miles. They weave through one of the most beautiful canyons in the United States, that is ranked as one of the largest in the country.

The aspect making the park so well known is it’s two breath-taking waterfalls. When I say breath-taking, I mean it. I could sit for hours and stare at the clear water cascading over the side of the rock.

The water falls land in a gorgeous, radiating blue, natural pool. My mom, remembering her childhood, has often told us stories of when she was able to swim in the pool. This is now frowned upon, but several pups can be found taking a splash.

To reach the falls, you must hike a small trail, totaling about two miles. The hike includes over 1,200 stair steps + several hilly areas. However, the view is SO worth it. The total trip lasted around 5 hours, which included about 1.5 hours of just hanging out.

This will forever be one of our greatest memories + we can’t wait to mark off hundreds of more waterfall adventures!!!
